Children's Program

Children-s-Progarm-2.jpgThe Sea Cliff Yacht Club Children's Program includes a Summer Program and periodic social events for our younger Members.  From the end of June to mid August there is a Summer Program for children ages 3 through 8 that includes daily activities such as:

• safety swim instruction-kiddie/adult pool
• on shore beginning sailing instruction
• Long Island Sound seashore ecology-hands-on explorations (horseshoe crabs, hermit crabs, sea stars, net fishing, snails, and much more aquatic life!)
• beach play
• indoor daily arts and crafts
• sports games
• music and movement classes
• story time
• nature studies
• snack/lunch

We offer low counselor to child ratios in a small community setting.  Your child will have fun in a nurturing environment with warm, caring teachers and counselors.

Our staff is CPR and First Aid certified. Our Director, Tara Giarraputo is a New York State Certified Elementary Teacher with a Masters Degree in Environmental Education and many years of classroom teaching experience. In addition, the Director has completed the SUNY Medication Administration Training course (MAT Training), epi-pen training and the defibrillator (AED) course.

The goal of the program is to foster a sense of wonder and curiosity in each child.  The children are offered the opportunity to explore their world through supervised play. They enjoy a nurturing and caring planned environment that creates friendships which will provide lasting memories.
